A Stylish Entertainment Space for Mr and Mrs Colvin
Mr and Mrs Colvin wanted to make better use of their garden at their home in Rotherham by creating a dedicated space for relaxing and entertaining. Rather than extending their house, they chose a bespoke 4m x 3m garden studio that could be transformed into a comfortable home bar and entertainment room.
The finished studio gives them a stylish, practical space where they can enjoy drinks, spend time with friends and entertain guests throughout the year.
High-Performance SIPs Construction
The 4m x 3m studio was constructed using high-performance structural insulated panels, commonly known as SIPs.
This construction method creates a strong and well-insulated building, helping Mr and Mrs Colvin enjoy their entertainment space during the colder months as well as throughout the summer.
A radiator was also installed to provide additional warmth during chilly Yorkshire evenings.
American Red Cedar Cladding
The exterior was finished in American Red Cedar cladding, giving the studio a warm, natural appearance that complements the surrounding garden.
An anthracite grey sliding patio door with black handles completes the modern frontage. The wide glazed doors allow plenty of natural light into the room and help connect the interior with the garden.
A Fully Finished Interior
Inside, the walls were professionally plastered to create a smooth, high-quality finish. Internal LED lighting provides a bright and welcoming atmosphere, while external LEDs illuminate the entrance and decking after dark.
PVCu decking was added outside the entrance, creating a practical, low-maintenance area and a seamless transition between the garden and the studio.
The Finished Garden Bar
The completed garden studio has given Mr and Mrs Colvin a dedicated entertainment space just a few steps from their home.
The combination of American Red Cedar cladding, anthracite grey doors, modern lighting and a professionally finished interior gives the building a smart, premium appearance.
Thanks to its insulated SIPs construction and radiator, the garden bar can be enjoyed throughout the year, making it ideal for entertaining friends, watching sport or relaxing with a drink.
