Do your products come with any guarantee?

We stand by our experience and quality of product. That is why we offer a 10-year guarantee against structural defects. The 10-year structural guarantee is available to all of our customers as standard policy, subject to our terms and conditions.

Where are your products manufactured?

All of the Yorkshire Garden Studios product range is manufactured in our onsite factory in Dodworth, Barnsley.

Will I need planning building regulations?

If the garden studio is less than 30m², building regulations will not normally apply. If the garden studio is bigger than this, there would be certain aspects to consider, such as the building would need to be at least 1m from any boundary and 2.5m maximum height.

The fitting teams require a minimum of 0.5m² around the garden room to physically construct it on-site. Garden studios over 15m² and up to 30m² must be installed 1m from any boundary.

Will I need planning permission for a garden studio?

In most cases you can have a Yorkshire Garden Studio built in your property’s outside space without seeking planning permission. A garden studio, or garden room is a permitted development, as long as it is under 2.5m high.

Most houses, even ones that are in conservation areas or areas of outstanding natural beauty, have permitted development rights. But, if you do need planning, don’t worry! It’s a simple process that our team will take care of for you.

What maintenance is required?

The tanalised wood timber cladding has been pre-treated to protect it against wood decay and insect attack. It is not necessary to regularly treat it however it will naturally fade to a light grey colour over the years. If required, you can stain it with a clear or coloured wood stain or paint to suit your own preferences.

What space will be required?

All of our studios are built on-site. The installation team require a minimum of 0.5m from any obstacle (boundary, fence, trees etc) for construction purposes. We will also need parking for one of our vans and clear access to the site area.
